Copyright Information

When you submit a story or article to our zine, you are agreeing to, and are bound, by these copyright stipulations.

Ownership and Content

You as the author retain your authorship copyright. Our zine does not own your work (article/literature/artwork); we claim ownership of the rights to display the work in the zine.
We can not accept any kind of fan fiction based media (i.e stories or artwork set in universes that belong to other people or companies that are under current copyright protection).

Distribution Rights

Distribution rights refers to how, when, where, and by whom the piece you submitted may be distributed in our zine to readers. We claim first distribution rights to display the work in our zine, to the agreed edition it was agreed upon to be submitted into. These distribution rights are limited to our zine until the zine has been published. Upon publish in neutrinos42 you can share your works with other publishers, organisations or persons. You as the author retain your distribution rights to list the submitted work in your portfolio and on your website, for display, proof-of-writing skills, and employment opportunities.
Once your work is published in the zine, your work may be re-published in compilation versions of netrinos42 in the future.
We may accept previously published work, however we need to know when and where it was published. You will need to check with these publishers that the terms that you agreement allowing your work to be published with them allows  you to submit your work to neutrinos42.
Once we have agreed to publish your work in neutrinos42 please do not submit the work anywhere else before it can be published in neutrinos42.

In the future, previous editions of the zine may be translated into other languages, this would mean re-publishing of your content, and re-distribution.

Licensing Rights

Licensing rights refers to a set of rights and restrictions between you, the author, and our zine, in to whom you, within a limited regulation, lending the right to exclusively license the work for some specific purpose. In this case, you are lending our zine the exclusive licensing rights of your article, in conjunction with the distribution rights, to be the only source and location in which your submitted content may be publicly displayed for distribution. You are licensing us with this right, and lending the licensing rights to any other source for submitted content is a violation of our copyright terms.

Fair Use

Fair use refers to other sources using parts of your submitted content for some purpose, such as discussing your piece in a blog, comparing your piece, including excerpts in an essay, and so forth. Fair use is vague, wide, and a large gray area. Our zine is not responsible for Fair Use application by external parties, and are not liable for any damages Fair Use may cause. Such examples of how this could damage your writing, would be negative reviews, a blog mocking your writing, or, in the case a different work of yours was published for money, if a source applied part of a submitted article from this zine in a negative manner that caused the sales of your other published work to decline.

The Berne Convention

This is not a copyright restriction proper, but a collection of countries that have signed a document agreeing to protect the copyright of any other people who are citizens of participating countries. Our zine agrees to, and follows, the Berne Convention. We will do all we can to protect the copyright of our submitters, and encourage both readers and submitters alike to become educated concerning this Convention as well.

Creative Commons

Our zine does not align our copyright policies with Creative Commons. While we respect these policies, we want our submitters’ works to be protected under ownership and copyright. Therefore, you are agreeing, when you submit works to our zine, that your work, even if it was in the Creative Commons before, is not anymore upon your work being accepted into this zine.
